About

Hi there! I'm Monty, and I'm excited to be your guide on this journey. I started my mindfulness practice 16 years ago when I faced a tough time after my dad passed away unexpectedly. I felt lost and overwhelmed, and I wanted to try something different. There weren't any apps back then!

  • I initially trained in a Buddhist temple, and since then, I have learnt hundreds of meditation and self-care techniques. I did my teacher training with global meditation master Dr Patirzia Collard and BAMBA (the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches). Since then I have trained counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches and doctors for the NHS and helped BAMBA to shape how they promote best practices within the field of Mindfulness Training.

  • This led to me starting work on my first mindfulness programme nine years ago, which I eventually released in the form of my award-winning mindfulness course, minding. Since then, I have been training people to teach mindfulness using MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy). MBCT is generally regarded as the gold standard in mindfulness training, as it has decades of glowing evidence support its effectiveness. My approach builds on MBCT by working with how we relate to aspects of ourselves. This helps make challenges less stressful and boosts our self-awareness and ability to manage our emotions. Unfortunately, these critical aspects are often overlooked in commercial mindfulness. This updated version of minding is inspired by these experiences and my work sharing MBCT. The most useful thing about my mindfulness practice is that I have a tool that I can always rely on whenever I face a challenge in any area of life - work, relationships and beyond.

  • Outside of mindfulness, I am a passionate dad and a Transpersonal Psychotherapist in training, and I run a brand consultancy. I love making music, too. Each of these experiences has been greatly enriched by my mindfulness practice. I truly hope you find this approach as helpful as I have.
